D.S. Marriott’s books of poetry are Incognegro (Salt, 2006) and Hoodoo Voodoo (Shearsman, 2008); he is an Associate Professor in the History of Consciousness Program at UC Santa Cruz and has published two scholarly works, On Black Men (Columbia, 2000) and Haunted Life (Rutgers, 2007) about the models of selfhood and the fictions of race.
