Lyn Hejinian is a poet, essayist, translator and
publisher. She teaches at UC Berkeley, and has
lectured in Russia and around Europe. She has
published over 14 books of poetry, including the
groundbreaking My Life (1987), along with numerous
books of essays and translations. She was the
editor of Tuumba Press (1976-84), Poetics Journal
(1981-99), and is currently the co-editor of Atelos
Press, which publishes works involving
collaborations between poets and other artists.
Hejinan herself has worked on number of
collaborative projects with painters, musicians,
and filmmakers. She lives in Berkeley with her
husband the composer/musician Larry Ochs.
